Dear Friends,
June is turning out to be a big month for the winery and I haven't been this excited in a long time. Why?
- If you haven't already noticed, we have a newly redesigned web site.
- Along with that, you can now order Lakeland Winery wines online with the launch of our Wine Store. Your first online order through the month of June is 50% off using the coupon code NEWSLETTER.
- We're asking you to help us write the winery's Mission Statement because, well, you know us better than anyone else! See below for more...
- This week is the start of our new referral program, running throughout the month of June. Simply provide contact details for three of your friends, and then stop by the winery for your choice of a complementary sample bottle of Lakeland Winery wine.
- We have a new Partners Page
on our web site with local business we've teamed up with to sell Lakeland Winery wine. The list is growing! If your local wine store isn't selling our wine yet and you think they should, let me know and we'll get in touch with them. Or better yet, tell them how much you love our wine and want to see it on the shelves!
And don't forget to check out my Wine Blog!
Life is Good,
—Andy

Help Write Our Mission Statement
We're putting together a mission statement that will outline how the winery will continue to provide exceptional winemaking services
and wine products in the years to come.
One principle we stand for is involvement equals commitment. Because our customers are so important to us, we want to involve everyone in the process of writing Lakeland Winery's Mission Statement.
So, we have three simple questions that we'd love for you to answer. You can respond to this email directly—or better yet, leave your response on my Wine Blog using the comment form at the bottom of the blog post. Let's get some discussion going!
- What should Lakeland Winery continue doing in the future?
- What should Lakeland Winery stop doing in the future?
- What should Lakeland Winery start doing in the future?
As soon as we can put a draft of the Mission Statement together, I'll post it to my Wine Blog...where we'll eagerly wait for your further comments!
For June: 50% Off Your First Online Order on Our New Wine Store
If you haven't noticed yet, we've launched our new Wine Store, offering Lakeland Winery Wines by the bottle for home delivery or store pickup.
To celebrate, we're offering all Lakeland Winery Newsletter Subscribers 50% off their first order using the coupon code NEWSLETTER
Syracuse Wine Meetup Group Annual BBQ on Saturday, June 21
 When
Saturday, June 21, at 6pm.
Where
Lakeland Winery
This month is the Syracuse Wine Meetup Group's Annual Summer BBQ! This year's barbecue will again be attended by our famous 'Chef Joe' who treated us with heroic stories from years past, and served up some delicious barbecue treats slathered with his own famous sauce.
We don't have steak, or fish and chips, or even a pool but we have the wine. All the wine is on me this year. The extra miscellaneous bottles made from last year are ready for you to drink this year. There must be 30 to 35 different varieties. Enjoy!
Please bring an appetizer to share, but if you want to come just to check out the scene, you're more than welcome. Come as you are...don't dress up. It's rough and tumble dress at the Lakeland Winery barbecue.
I may invite a company who will make natural flavored wine slushies. Hope it's a hot day.
Adam Hood, Recipient of Outstanding Senior Award from SUNY Oswego, Leads Lakeland Winery's Marketing Team
I'm pleased and honored to welcome our most recent recruit to Lakeland Winery, Adam Hood, a recent graduate from SUNY Oswego.
You may be talking with Adam soon, as he directs our marketing efforts to make Lakeland Winery a household name—first in Onondaga County, then throughout New York state and beyond!
Adam can be reached at adam@lakelandwinery.com.
Winemaking Tip of the Month: Shopping For Wine
Next time you need a quick bottle of wine, first think of these issues:
- How does the wine taste that you're buying?
- Do you know what foods, if any, will be coupled with the wine to enhance its flavor?
- How long has the wine aged, and how do you know if it has been long enough without first tasting it?
- Do you have an idea that the kind of wine you're sharing will be enjoyed by your friends too?
All these questions can be answered to enhance your entertainment experience by first having a wine tasting party at Lakeland Winery. And if you want to pay wholesale prices (who wouldn't), join us for a winemaking party. Check out the calendar on our web site
for available appointments. Nothing would sound more edifying than having your friends hear you say, "I think Cabernet Sauvignon would go well with this BBQ steak. I'll go grab one for you from my wine cellar!"
Enjoy :)
